FAREWELL TO GBO NEW DELHI DIRECTOR: PRASHASTI RASTOGI
COMPLETING 7 YEARS IN GBO NEW DELHI
 

The GBO New Delhi bid farewell to Prashasti Rastogi, Director, GBO New Delhi who is leaving us after completing 7 years. The celebration took place on Monday, 20 January 2020 in New Delhi. She joined GBO in 2012 and in her tenure, she created a platform for the exchange of publishing industry between India and Germany. 
She has been working on cultural projects in India and initiating a change in the publishing industry and revamping it every year. Projects like- Jumpstart, an annual conclave which brings into focus the trends and highlights from the world of children’s content. www.jumpstartfest.com
Globalocal, an exclusive forum for content, tailored to the publishing and allied industry, and has evolved from a conference format to an exclusive B2B platform integrating expert speaks and networking opportunities among other avenues of business outreach. Globalocal has now a podcast forum as well.  www.globalocalforum.com
Translating Germany, an online e- learning platform for translators to pitch translations from German to Indian languages.
Publisher's Training Programme for Young Professionals(PTPYP), a course initiated, designed and accredited since 2014 by the German Book Office New Delhi and the Frankfurter Buchmesse. While the GBO has in the past co-organized the Publishers Training Programme at IIM's.
Apart from these projects she played an integral part in the Frankfurter Buchmesse, the world’s leading venue for print and digital content. It is the largest book fair in the world, an international trademark and a model for cultural events. 
GBO New Delhi hosted a farewell party for Prashasti She mentioned in her going-away speech that she is thankful to everyone she has worked with and it was an immense learning opportunity to be working with the entire Frankfurter Buchmesse as well.

We wish her all the success for her future endeavors.

GERMAN BOOK OFFICE AT THE NEW DELHI WORLD BOOK FAIR 2020
FROM #GERMANSTORIES TO CHILDREN'S LITERATURE & GRAPHIC NOVELS AND SOME ACTIVITIES

This year at the 28th New Delhi World Book Fair, the German Book Office New Delhi presented various book collections from Germany along with activities and events to promote German literature of various genres. Goethe-Institut New Delhi was at our stand with various board games, activities and some online e- learning apps for kids.
OVERVIEW

A collection of children’s literature, German graphic novels and all books converted into films or will convert into films in future were displayed at the German Book Office New Delhi stand at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2020. 

Spielzeit
German card games and board games were conducted by the library team of the Goethe Institut New Delhi. The team conducted the games which were based on memory and basic German language vocabulary. The games attracted visitors of all age groups including children and adults.
Knowledge and command of German language was an added plus however, audience and visitors with no basic knowledge of the language also did learn some German words and participated whole heartedly. We declared two finalists at the end of the activities. Winner received goodies.

Reading Challenge
We conducted a reading challenge for visitors who had a good command of the German language. And, for those who were learning the language. This challenge was open to all age groups. We declared two finalists at the end of the challenge. The winners received goodies.

Read and Translate Challenge
We conducted a read and translate challenge for visitors who knew the language well and could understand its meaning and translate as well. This challenge was open to all age groups. We declared one finalist at the end of the challenge. The winner received goodies.
