FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL BOOKSELLERS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO EXPAND YOUR INTERNATIONAL NETWORK »
The programme aims at international booksellers, who offer foreign-language titles in their bookshops and would like to gain insight into the workings of the German book market and German publishing. Some international booksellers will be selected by Frankfurter Buchmesse to take part in an exclusive training, exchange and networking programme. The programme will be organised by Frankfurter Buchmesse with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office. The application deadline is 28 September 2020.
The hotel Frankfurter Hof has always served as an unofficial networking hub during the fair. This year the Hof transports the informal experience to the digital space: with live music and digital breakout sessions that bring you into small groups, and may introduce you to new people by chance. To get everyone in the mood for the book fair, The Hof will already kick off on 24 September.
On 1 October, everyone is invited to the meet & greet session “October – Frankfurt is in the air” with Juergen Boos, Director of Frankfurter Buchmesse.
This year, Frankfurter Buchmesse’s first digital conference series – Frankfurt Conference – will offer an online programme for publishers.
From 12th to 15th October 2020 one of the key areas of the publishing industry will be covered each day between 3pm and 5.30 pm CEST.
Experts from Academic & Scholarly publishing will kick off the conference series on Monday, followed by the Rights & Licensing track on Tuesday, Publishing Insights on Wednesday, and the Audio track on Thursday.

PUBLISHING AND THE PANDEMIC WILL AUDIOBOOKS CHANGE INDIAN PUBLISHING? »
During the pandemic, Audiobooks have gained enormous popularity as physical books are harder to get. Today, apps like Audible and others have also been downloaded in sizeable numbers. Audiobooks are admired as one can typically, while listening to them, engage in physical activities like commuting. The advent of audiobooks means that a larger audience can now enjoy stories irrespective of being able to read the language, allowing them access to books they may have heard of but not had the pleasure to read.
