Jumpstart Team is delighted to invite you to the 2019 edition of Beyond the Book : JUMPSTART at India International Centre New Delhi.  At Beyond the Book: JUMPSTART, our goal is to give you connections, an understanding of what works in the new media and hone the craft with experts.

Organised by the German Book Office New Delhi, which is the South Asia node of the Frankfurter Buchmesse in association with Federal Foreign Office of Germany. GBO’s Jumpstart was founded with the objective of building an exchange platform for the creative community and facilitate capacity development in the children’s content space. Since its inception JUMPSTART has completed 10 Editions with over 183 Speakers from 13 countries and over 20 industries, and has conducted 32 Masterclasses on various topics, establishing itself as the space for creative ideation and collaboration. 

This year’s Delhi edition focuses on two very essential topics that are trending globally:

About the Masterclass Leaders

Ken Spillman is the author of around 80 books, with around three-quarters of them for children or young adults. His work has appeared in many countries and dozens of translations. Recent picture books include The Magic Bird (2018), Big Noah Little Boa (2017), and Clumsy! (2016). Puffin India released an omnibus edition of his Daydreamer Dev adventures in 2019, and he is also well known of his Jake series. His  16-book Virtues series, released in SE Asia during 2015, has been released in China and Korea and is under negotiation for India. Ken also has a great interest in classic tales and has retold numerous fairy tales and fables for Scholastic. He has presented sessions to more than 90,000 school children in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Philippines, Taiwan and Singapore. Jan Weitendorf graduated with a master in economics and started working for Price Waterhouse. In 1996 he became publisher at Oetinger publishing group in Germany. 2014 after being CEO of Oetinger for over 10 years, he started his own company W1-Media.  Today he is head of publishing at W1-Media including ARCHE, ATRIUM, WooW, ARCTIS, JUMBO, NordSüd (Switzerland) NORTHSOUTH (USA). He is also invested in several startups such as, Nebelhorn (digital App developer for Bloggers and Schools) and MobilApp (digital App developer for auto industry).
