Discovering German stories with books and games
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED THIS SATURDAY AT SPIELZEIT + BUCH-TAG

Many young bibliophiles braved the Delhi rain to attend Spielzeit + Buch-Tag at the Goethe-Institut/ Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi on 2 March 2018. The afternoon kicked off with a magnificent display of books from Germany, in English and German, at the library of the Goethe Institut. The collection, which was contributed by the German Book Office New Delhi, consisted of literary fiction, crime fiction, graphic novels and children's literature.

While some participants enjoyed a quiet read in the reading area and solved a German literature quiz, the participants of the Treasure Hunt were busy solving book-related riddles and puzzles and locating some iconic German books on the streets of Delhi.

As evening approached, the library was choc-a-block with young German speakers and learners who enthusiastically participated in Spielzeit to play various German board and card games, facilitated by the library team of the Goethe Institut.

Come rain, come shine, nothing was stopping the enthusiastic participants of the Treasure Hunt. Working in pairs, the participants solved various clues, puzzles and crosswords, and then tried locating all 15 book treasures hidden along the route. Three winning teams were awarded special GBO goodie bags.
