Save the date for Jumpstart 2019

The three of many key features of Jumpstart this year:
1. The promise of digital
The growing world of children’s content on social media (YouTube). In April 2019, YouTube announced that India was both its largest market and fastest growing market in the world. In five years’ time, the number of YouTube creators that have crossed the million mark went from 2-1200! What does this mean for children’s content? YouTube channels like Chu Chu TV and Geethanjali have millions of subscribers. How will they ride this growth? What kind of content will work? Original? Licensed? Other technologies? Ages? What the potential for growth and what are the opportunities for writers and illustrators.

2. It takes a tribe to write a book!
Community story platforms like Wattpad are changing the way we write and be discovered! Wattpad on how writing stories on social media can be your launch pad to bigger audiences and newer media.

3. Books to Screen  - Navigating the path In-between
Over The Top platforms and other digital avenues are the next big market for good content. Books, already published, tried and tested are the obvious first choice for production houses. Story Ink, who represents more than 100 authors coordinates a panel to explore, what kinds of books make the cut and how to give your book a change to make the journey from print to screen.
